It’s so easy to get wrapped up in our high tech society and forget to take care of ourselves. Our bodies are pretty good, but they’ll thank you over and over if you include a break now and than plus a little exercise. Give that heart something to feel good about – jog your sneakers off or just stroll through the park at a fairly fast pace.

Running and jogging improves your health mentally and physically. Hearts and lungs just love the running and jogging exercises - they’ll stay healthier longer if you run or jog 3 or 4 times per week.

The mind, as we know gets on overload and stress kicks in along with mental exhaustion even depression can occur. Running recharges our minds and sort of does a mental tune up too!

Our body sends messages requesting a good run or jog, but some of us don’t read our fax or mail. If it’s totally impossible to run outside because of a busy schedule, hook up with a gym and run on the treadmill while you’re watching your favorite TV program. The treadmill offers a cushioned surface that is easier on the body than concrete or a hard surface.

You can monitor your heart rate, check your mileage and stay on a steady weekly schedule even in bad weather. You have more options time – wise at the gym, because you can go before dawn or after dusk as your daily schedule dictates. There are trainers at your beckon call to get you in the “zone.”

Probably the best advice ever given is to “don’t expect awesome results too quickly.” Give your body and mind time to get on track, to get use to a schedule and time to make the necessary adjustments.

Eat healthy foods, don’t starve yourself and gradually build your workouts up to ¾ of an hour or an hour several times per week. Remember, your body and mind didn’t arrive where its at in one day, so take your time and encourage yourself as you get back to the basics of good health.
